Re: Round 1: Road America
this one is very very stable, but only one problem, if you go over a curb into grass, it can suddenly spin like hell

Hey Natalino, Welcome to the team
My best qualifying lap i have done is a 2:06.6 (with everything correct), it might be the setup or it might be me. One thing is for sure is that even if i could qualify, i shouldn't be the one to do it

Re: Round 1: Road America
Seems like the low 2:05, high 2:04 range is the place to be. My setup should be good for a low 2:05 easily, I'm just too much of a noob to put a lap together at the moment.
I reckon both teams will easily make it into the race.

Re: Round 1: Road America
From the last practice session I was in, 2:05's were in the top half of the field. Pretty sure low 2:05's will get us closer to the pole
Re: Round 1: Road America
Maybe you are too much optimistics.
I think we are going to be placed between the 35th and the 50th position on the starting grid with a mid 2.05 (considering that there are more than 90 teams registered)
I'll be happy if I'm wrong though

Re: Round 1: Road America
Yeah, well always hope for the best. I'm assuming people have also heard about the driver swap glitch too yes? The one where you get thrown 10 feet in the air? Anyways, they think a way around it is to not swap or something until the car is fueling instead of when the car is up on the jack straight away. Others say it is completely random. Also, be sure to remember that you should exit the car when refueling begins and the driver should get back in straight away.
I've also made you all admins so that whoever is racing first can register the team. Incase of emergency, be sure that there's two people present at the start of the race in case something happens. Brendan make sure you give the other guys admin too. Everyone should be on TS3 the moment they are online. I can spot for you guys when I'm back from karting but I will be using TeamSpeak instead.

Re: Round 1: Road America
Riley, I altered the stints a little bit. Would you be ok with starting the race? I'm possibly away until 2pm that day so I'll be running in the later stages of the race. I can run any of the last 3 stints
Re: Round 1: Road America
I'd be happy to start the race, the only thing I'd be worried about is that my ping would be around 300-400 which could lead to come ghost contact. I'd also have to kick my housemates off the internet but I'll see what I can do.

Re: Round 1: Road America
Oscar, do you know if Juan can start the race?
If that's the case, we can just shift the stints like this:
12:00 --- 14:00 - Juan
14:00 --- 16:00 - Omar
16:00 --- 18:00 - Oscar
18:00 --- 20:00 - Juan
20:00 --- 22:00 - Oscar
22:00 --- 00:00 - Riley

Let me know what you think. Can do consistent 5.2/5.3 on the qualifying setup, PB is a 5.1.
Race setup I was doing 6.0 on full fuel.

Re: Round 1: Road America
I'd like to split the hours evenly (3 hours for everyone) but unfortunately I can't race on Saturday evenings, that's why I'll only race for 2 hours.
So guys, tomorrow we will now our potential. How do you feel?
Regarding the race, I saw a really strong MP4 driver doing a 35 laps stint with all the laps within 2.06. I can match this pace only for about 10 laps or so and then I start to lose performance (I don't know if it's the setup that burns the tires or just me got tired).
Anyway I really think that a 2.07 pace is competitive, considering that we can play it safe and save the tires, which are two big elements in an endurance race IMHO.

That's a really strong race pace! I'll try your setup later.
Can you tell me how the tires were after 10 laps (temp and pressure)?

Re: Round 1: Road America
i participated in the 24h SPA if you don't know yet (started the race for our car). we were 3rd place in Cspec, when after 6 hours on driver swap, car jumped and got stuck in the garage sadly.
But what I know is, 2 fuel stints are the way to go, 3 hours is a bit long and my knee starts hurting like hell usually.
ALSO, when changing fuel and tires, you don't lose any time for driver swap if you jump out and in right away. But really, 2 fuel stints are the way to go imo and then a swap, as lons as we don't lose time.
also, safety is the way most important part, don't worry being 0,5, 1sec of pace, we need to finish, lose 0,5s per lap is way better then spinning and losing 20 second every 10 laps or even damage the car imo (and these things happen even to the best! 1st RUF car in 24h SPA lost the car 1 hour to go after leading for 23h)

From Michael Booth
Hi team managers!
First of all - if you are not going to race in round 1, please DO NOT join these sessions.
Qualifying session 1 - Wednesday 5th at 0800 UTC - password: ky3bridge
Qualifying session 2 - Wednesday 5th at 1600 UTC - password: ky3spoon
Qualifying session 3 - Thursday 6th at 0000 UTC - password: ky3chicane
Use http://time.is/UTC or the links above to convert the time
Each session lasts 6 hours (5:50 of qualifying as there is a minimum 10 minute race enforced by iRacing). Your team may join all three sessions if you wish, and each driver the team may run as many laps as they want.
If a session approaches 50 cars, a new server will be created, with the same end time as the current one - you MUST NOT join a new server if you are already in a session
Please do not share the passwords with those outside your team.
Blocking - when leaving the pits, or on an outlap you must give way to those on a hotlap - you can protest any blocking via the protest form http://goo.gl/forms/kkEXdG4NMc
Drafting - given the difficulty in checking 18 hours of qualifying, drafting is allowed
Car number - please check your team’s number in myTeams matches with the teams list at http://mastersofendurance.net/teams and contains no leading zeros (i.e. use 5 instead of 05)
Car choice - if you change car between qualifying and the race, you will start from the pit lane
Paints - you must send us your paint (with the correct numberplate and 2 MoE logos) by Wednesday 0800 UTC or you will start from the pit lane. PM to Michael Booth2 and Phillip Diaz, share via Google drive or email admin@mastersofendurance.net
Radio - Documents/iRacing/scripts/radio has default scripts which mute @ALLTEAMS when driving. You may also wish to add “if dc mute @drivers” to StartDriving.txt
Replays - to help us get a replay of the pole position lap, those who set the fastest lap of the session or set a 2:03 laptime should save a replay of their lap
Good luck in qualifying, and thanks again for joining MoE!

Re: Round 1: Road America
btw, for race setup i would go with wing -2 and tires at 148 -152 kpa! pressures are too high at least for me atm. I'll try to test it some more, but because its 12h race, i would use -2 wing, because it does make a difference in stability
tire pressures are easy to change when swaping drivers, my race pace is high 06, low 07s atm, will try some more

Re: Round 1: Road America
Do you guys want to get some drafting going in qualifying? I think it would be worth half a second at least so we probably should. I'll probably pop into all the qualifying sessions at some point. When are you gonna be qualifying oscar/omar/juan?
I'll keep testing the race setup, -3 wing and the tyre pressures felt good to me. I tried it with lower tyre pressures and it felt absolutely awful, but I just don't like low tyre pressures in general.
What does it mean when it says "if you change your car between qualifying and race, you will start from the pit lane"?
That has nothing to do with setups does it?
