Round 3: To Do List
Ok guys. So after this week, we think there needs to another one of these threads as everything was very very messy in terms of organizing, setups, etc. So Riley and I have talked over a few things and here's what we've come up with:
1: Both cars in the race!!!
- For the second time in this series, the 72 car has not made it into the race. Now, we realise that the competition is tough and the cut-off point is hard to beat, but, with practice you guys could easily make it in. The only people I really saw practicing a tonne was Brendan. I know Henrik and Dario did a bit but not nearly enough as needed. Overall, I think Riley put in about 5 hours of laps and I put in about 3.5 hours. Not sure about Juan or Omar. But anyways, you guys really need to get into the next race. You're more than capable but you just need to turn that capability into effort...
2: Practice
- We really need to see more practice from everyone. I myself admit I should practice a lot more too. Everyone needs to practice. Riley and I didn't see anyone else on that much at all other than Brendan. Everyone needs to stay in communication!
3: 24hours requires a lot of effort
- We're already working around to see what's the optimal team line-ups for this race. The maxium number of drivers is 6. We're hoping to get 4 drivers on each team MINIMUM. It's a very long race and everyone needs to work out stints very early so it's not a surprise or catastrophe when someone doesn't show up or can't race when needed.
So we hope that you guys take this in. We've had nothing but bad luck and misfortune for the last 2 races. This is going to be the race where it all turns around!

Re: Round 3: To Do List
I think one of the first thing to do is to work out when everyone can race at the moment so that we can get drivers in to fill in the areas when we need them

Yeah guys pls just practice more. I was very tempted to just leave and not race the rest of MoE since there's no point racing if we can't get a good result.

It is a bit difficult because they haven't released the weather but i still say people should practice anyway to get used to the car/track combo

Re: Round 3: To Do List
I will continue to push you guys to practice together. Get as many from both cars together as you can and run laps, share setups, and give each other advice.
Oscar and Henrik know the team on Forza would not have achieved what it has without the time we spend practicing together and helping each other to improve through on track advice as well setup help. Please guys, I know its tough with timezones, but get a few people together that are available to run when laps when you are.

It's no problem. Just give us more notice
Re: Round 3: To Do List
Not really about not showing up Omar, it was a short race so didn't really matter. Everyone just needs more practice when they actually are racing. I'm pretty sure I did like a solid 8 or so hours just lapping in practice/qualifying. Obviously not everyone has unlimited free time like I do at the moment but everyone should make an effort.

Re: Round 3: To Do List
There's a guy who sent an application to the team.
He has 5000+ iRating
What should we do?

Re: Round 3: To Do List
Oh Yeah, that's Alex McFarlane. Was talking to him about joining the team. Still talking to him but nothing confirmed yet.
Re: Round 3: To Do List
Yeah, it's him.
He sent an application to the team, is it a good sign?

Re: Round 3: To Do List
Not really sure. He races MX5's mostly and doesn't really have much tracks or cars. I think he got confused and tried to apply thinking that he was in already.
Re: Round 3: To Do List
So, any news about that guy?
BTW, seems like we already have the weather for SPA, here you go:
24°C with clear skies, 70% humidity, and a 4 km/h Northeast wind
It's time to start practicing

Re: Round 3: To Do List
Yeah, he said he wasn't interested in leagues and he didn't have much content outside Mazda Cup. So, he won't be joining. Will keep a look out though!
Re: Round 3: To Do List
I was embarrased with my performance, and I'm taking spa more seriously. I'm competting in the Gt3 season for 2015 and learning how to set up the car on my own. I promise to get car 72 into the race for Spa.
Re: Round 3: To Do List
I'd say definitely! We need all he help we can get for that!

Re: Round 3: To Do List
Yeah it's really important that everyone spends much more time preparing for this! It would be terrible for the 2nd car to not make it a 3rd time

Re: Round 3: To Do List
Am not keen on this at all and would rather focus on doing well in the iracing grand prix series so I probably wont practice as much for this.

Yeah, I think it's a good idea.
One team of 6 people is better than 2 team of 4 for a 24 hours race, otherwise everyone should be able to race for 6 hours.
And also we can use our different timezones as an advantage for us, for example the non-EU guy can cover the "GMT night" and viceversa.
For example take Team1, I can't imagine Oscar, Juan or me racing during 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 am, so it would be all on Riley. And doing a 6 hours stint at SPA is not that good...
If we merge the two teams together there will be some US people who can help Riley in that period.

Re: Round 3: To Do List
Hey guys, so we've got a sort of announcement. Riley and I are both putting full focus on the iGPS this season and because the car requires so much we literally don't have the time (Riley has college and I have my Junior Cert Exams) to commit.
So, from Spa onwards, we're going to merge the two teams together. So the line-up will look like this for Spa24
Juan, Omar, Brendan, Henrik and Dario. I'm going to leave Team Manager to Brendan so he'll get all info pre-race from the admins. Good luck guys
